White Sturgeon are one of the last remaining dinosaur-like species. They have been around basically unchanged for 40 million years . Sturgeon fishing is steady from Mid March to late December, with peak times being April and May, then again from September on to mid November.
Sturgeon can reach 12 feet long or more and weigh up to 1100 pounds! Sturgeon are thought to live for up to 200 years.Maturity is at about 17 to 25 years, which is about 5 to 6 ft…90 to 140 pounds
Many Sturgeon , however, range from 3-6 feet in length and have an acrobatic ability that is amazing for large fish.

Spring is when the Eulachons start spawning in the Fraser and they just go crazy over these small herring like fish…they have not fed much over the winter.
